The Exercise Concrete Jungle was the second major outdoor exercise which aimed at practicing students on Fighting in Built up Areas.
The College Run
“The College Run” is one of the important events in the College itinerary that took place during the Term 2. It is a 5 Kilometer road run from the College across the residential areas in Sapugaskanda and return.
Exercise Upper Cut
The Exercise “UPPER CUT” was the first major exercise conducted during the Term 2. It took Students through detailed planning of a brigade level offensive operation in tutorial form followed by a Tactical Exercise without Troops (TEWT) and a reconnaissance to confirm plans on ground.

New Year Celebration 2013
Defence Services Command and Staff College celebrated the Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival at the College premises on 11th April 2013 just before the termination of the Term 1, with the participation of All Officers, Other Ranks, Civilian Staff and their families.

The Defence Services Command and Staff College sets out to train officers in basic command and staff techniques, but just as important, it aims at helping them to develop the intellectual attributes to cope with their future appointments and the challenges that are inevitable in the years ahead. By this process, we seek to develop their breadth of understanding and the ability to analyse and evaluate issues in a logical way.
