The Exercise ‘SHADOW DANCE’ is one of the major joint exercises in course time table. The exercise of course no 12 commenced on 19 June 2018 and terminated on 26 June 2018.
This exercise is designed to develop student officers’ knowledge of understanding of the use of war gaming as a staff tool and also to confirm their understanding of the battle procedure, planning and conduct of joint offensive and defensive operations.
The exercise was conducted in three parts. Part one was designed to stimulate thoughts and discussion about joint operations at formation level and to generate some of the staff work. Part two was a bird table assisted two-sided war game followed by a media briefing with experienced journalists in Sri Lanka. Part three was a RIC for the Army students.
